Capture Summer Together: A Fun Project for Parents & Teens

Summer memories aren’t just for scrapbooks anymore—they can be fun, creative, and digital! Working on a project together is a great way to strengthen your relationship with your tween or teen, build communication, and make lasting memories.

This summer, why not start a Parent & Teen Digital Memories Project? It’s simple, creative, and totally yours to shape.

Here are a few fun ideas to help you get started:

🎥 Create a “Summer in 60 Seconds” Video Challenge yourselves to capture a quick clip from each week of summer—family dinners, a funny pet moment, or a cool place you visit. Put them together at the end for a fun highlight reel.

📸 Start a Shared Photo Album Use Google Photos or another app to create a shared album where you both upload your favorite pictures. Add funny captions or little notes to each other under the photos.

📝 Document with Voice Memos or Short Interviews Record short interviews with each other:

  • “What’s been the best part of your summer so far?”

  • “What’s one thing you’ve learned about yourself this summer?”

  • These make for priceless memories later.

🎨 Design a Digital Mood Board Together Pick a free tool like Canva or Pinterest and build a mood board of what you both want your summer to feel like—colors, quotes, and dreams for the months ahead.

💻 Make a “Top 10 Summer Moments” Slideshow

At the end of summer, each of you picks 5 favorite moments, and together you create a slideshow or photo collage. Watch it together with popcorn for a fun memory night.

The best part? It’s not just about the photos or videos—it’s about the time you spend together and the conversations you’ll have along the way.

At ChatterGirls, we believe strong connections build strong girls. Projects like these help you grow together—with lots of laughs along the way.
